Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using ScreenShark (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
2. The Service
ScreenShark helps you voluntarily restrict your own access to apps on your device by leveraging Apple’s Family Controls framework. You configure which apps to block, for how long, and on what schedule. The blocking is enforced by your operating system, not by us.
ScreenShark is intended as a personal wellness tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical or mental-health treatment.
3. Subscriptions
Most ScreenShark features require an active subscription, billed through your Apple ID under Apple’s standard auto-renewable subscription terms.
- Free trial. New users may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. Your subscription will auto-renew at the standard price after the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Auto-renewal.Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time in your iPhone’s Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- Pricing.Pricing is shown in-app before purchase. We may change pricing for new subscribers; existing subscribers’ pricing changes are governed by Apple’s rules.
- Refunds. Subscription refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Service
- Use the Service to block apps on a device you don’t own or aren’t the primary user of, except with the device owner’s explicit consent
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the operating system’s blocking enforcement
5. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely effective at blocking the apps you select. Blocking enforcement depends on Apple’s Family Controls framework and your device’s configuration; we cannot guarantee outcomes.
ScreenShark is a tool to support your own focus and wellness goals. It is not a treatment for technology addiction or a replacement for medical care.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScreenShark shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify users through the app. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland.
